Courses and Training in Jersey
At Life Vital Academy we provide face to face first aid, mental health and behavioural safety training across Jersey. We are approved NUCO Trainers for First Aid and First Aid for Mental Health, delivering First Aid Awards, FAA, qualifications, and we are an approved trainer for behavioural safety and conflict management.
All courses are delivered in person by experienced healthcare professionals and educators, led by Geoff, an ICU nurse with over 20 years of clinical practice.

First Aid Courses
Our first aid courses in Jersey are practical, hands on and built around realistic scenarios. As an approved NUCO Training centre we deliver FAA accredited qualifications that help you meet your health and safety responsibilities and give your team the confidence to act in an emergency.
Emergency First Aid at Work, EFAW
A one day Emergency First Aid at Work course for low risk workplaces such as offices, shops and community settings. Learn how to assess a situation, perform CPR, use an AED, place someone in the recovery position and deal with choking, bleeding and shock.
First Aid at Work, FAW
A comprehensive First Aid at Work course for higher risk environments including construction, manufacturing and larger sites. Builds on EFAW and covers fractures, head and spinal injuries, burns, eye injuries, crush injuries and sudden illnesses such as heart attack and stroke.
Paediatric First Aid
A paediatric specific first aid course focusing on babies and children. Covers baby and child CPR, choking, the recovery position, seizures, allergic reactions, head injuries and common childhood illnesses and injuries.
Paediatric Emergency First Aid
A one day course focused on managing emergency situations involving babies and children. Learn how to recognise and respond to serious illness and injury, including CPR, choking, bleeding and shock.
Anaphylaxis and Auto Injector Training
Short focused training on recognising and responding to anaphylaxis, including the safe use of auto injectors such as EpiPen and similar devices, and what to do while waiting for emergency help.
Annual Refresher for First Aiders
A practical refresher session for existing first aiders who want to keep core skills sharp between full requalification courses. Recaps CPR, AED use, the recovery position and common emergency scenarios.
Mental Health Training

First Aid for Mental Health Awareness, Level 1
An introductory course that helps learners recognise early signs of mental health issues, start safe and supportive conversations, and know when to signpost for further help.
First Aid for Mental Health, Level 2
A one day course that covers a range of common mental health conditions, the impact they can have at work and in daily life, and how to provide ongoing first aid for mental health in the workplace or community.
Supervising First Aid for Mental Health, Level 3
An advanced course for those with responsibility for mental health support in an organisation. Covers a wider range of conditions, support strategies, action planning and how to embed mental health awareness in your setting.
First Aiders for Mental Health Annual Refresher
A refresher session for qualified First Aiders for Mental Health to keep knowledge current and maintain confidence between full requalification courses.
Supervising First Aid for Mental Health Requalification – Level 3
A one day requalification course for people holding a current FAA Level 3 Supervising First Aid for Mental Health certificate, updating knowledge and skills and revisiting key topics.
